How to take Prevacid for Acid Reflux:

Only take this and all prescription medications as directed to by your doctor. Take each dose with a full glass of water. If you miss a dose take it at the first chance that you get and keep on taking your regularly scheduled doses.

• In rare cases an allergic reaction can occur which may involve the following symptoms: swelling of the lips, tongue or face, closing of the throat and hives. If you experience any of these rare yet dangerous allergic reactions, STOP taking Prevacid and seek immediate medical treatment

Prevacid Precautions:

It is important that you always talk to your doctor and make sure that you disclose ALL of the drugs you are currently taking in order to avoid any reactions. Make sure that you let your doctor know if you are pregnant or nursing as it is unknown whether or not this drug can be passed on to the infant. Those who currently suffer from liver disease may not be able to take this drug. Let your doctor know if you are taking any medications containing the following drugs: (Nizoral), ampicillin (Omnipen, Principen), digoxin (Lanoxin, Lanoxicaps), and iron (Feosol, Mol-Iron, Fergon, Femiron), as they may have lessened effectiveness when taken in conjunction with Prevacid.
