More than 24 million Americans have contracted genital or perianal warts associated with HPV. The good news is that Condylox can help decrease and even eliminate genital warts.
Condylox (podofilox topical) is a powerful topical gel used to treat external genital warts caused by the HPV (Human Papilloma Virus) and actinic keratosis (AK) on the skin. Usually prescribed for a treatment period of 3-4 weeks, this drug has been shown to significantly decrease and or eliminate all wart growths associated with HPV, as well as eliminating the presence of actinic keratosis.
It is not entirely known exactly how this prescription medication actually works. What is known is the clinical documentation during the testing trials which showed it to be very effective in treating both EGW and AK.
Only take this prescription drug as directed by your doctor. Most often you will be prescribed Condylox for a “treatment week”. Generally this medicine is prescribed to be applied to the affected area 1-2 times daily, for three consecutive days, with a spacing of four days following. Your doctor may prescribe multiple “treatment weeks” depending on your condition. This medicine is intended to be used externally only.
Suffering from this very embarrassing virus can be mentally and sexually debilitating. In the past there were several other methods of treatment which generally were both embarrassing and painful, and required multiple visits to the doctor and constant monitoring of the condition. Thankfully there are now much more affordable, private and convenient ways to eliminate all of the genital warts that you may be suffering from.
AK (actinic keratosis) is a skin condition most often found on people who have fair skin and have had a considerable amount of exposure to direct sunlight. AK can most often look like moles or freckles, taking on a variety of shapes and colors, and most commonly found on the face and scalp. If left untreated, AK does have the potential to develop into a form of skin cancer.
There are some side effects that can potentially occur when you are taking this drug:
While this drug may be right for most people, only your doctor will be able to tell you if it is the right drug for you. Avoid using other topical creams or gels when using Condylox, unless otherwise instructed by your doctor. Only use this drug as directed and avoid sexual intercourse during periods of topical therapy. Women who are pregnant expecting or nursing should first tell their doctor before beginning therapy. Make sure you tell your doctor about all the drugs that you are taking to avoid any interactions.
