Justin Bieber, the teen heartthrob known for his trademark hair, is ruffling British feathers. The pop star made a comment about Prince William’s thinning hair that has some people quite bothered.
The crack that’s irritating the UK
Bieber suggested that the Royal Prince use a medication like Propecia to help regrow his hair. Bieber, who began his career with choppy locks and bangs, was deemed the male celebrity with the “Most Influential Haircut” of 2011 by the Wall Street Journal after he had his hair cut short. Bieber told U.K.s Rollercoaster magazine, “I mean, there are things to prevent that nowadays, like Propecia,” Bieber, 18, told the U.K.’s Rollercoaster magazine about the 30-year-old royal’s thinning hair. “I don’t know why he doesn’t just get those things, those products. You just take Propecia and your hair grows back. Have you not got it over here?”
Some have called on The Biebs to apologize; others say the young idol was just making a joke. No apology has been issued and the Prince has not commented on the issue either.
This oral medication used to treat male pattern hair loss helps stimulate growth. It’s most beneficial to men who are losing hair from the top of the head, rather than hair loss from the temple. “If you are taking Propecia to treat male pattern hair loss, it may take at least 3 months before you see any improvement because hair loss and growth happen slowly over time. However, you should expect to see improvement during the first 12 months of your treatment,” according to PubMedHealth.
Propecia is also taken to treat an enlarged prostate. It can help alleviate some of the symptoms that are associated with the condition including problems urinating.
A doctor can provide a prescription for Propecia for either situation.
